Kirsten Lara Getchell

Kirsten Lara Getchell has a passion for photographing people. For over a decade, Kirsten has been shooting headshots, working exclusively from the referrals of agents, casting directors, managers, and actors, among others. Over the years, Kirsten expanded her work to include portraiture of kids and families, weddings and events, publicity, and more.

Now shooting both in Los Angeles and San Francisco/Berkeley, Kirsten creates a friendly shoot environment by relying on her intuition and sense of humor to put clients at ease so they feel free to express themselves. Her philosophy is simple: to create compelling photographs that capture moments and reveal the true spirit and individuality of her subjects. When Kirsten is not shooting, she loves to paint with oils, write scripts, and travel.

Further exploring her love of light and faces, Kirsten made her directorial debut with her 21- minute 35mm short feature LEAVING DREW, an Official Selection of numerous film festivals throughout the country. The film was also awarded the prestigious International Cinematographer’s Guild Award for Artistic Achievement in Cinematography, resulting in a Kodak-sponsored international tour to ten cities.
